Aim of the project, according to Riga development plan year 2006-2018, was to reduce road transport intensity in city centre and old town territory, creating qualitative and competitive public transport network, including improvements and completion of existing tram traffic. Total length of 5.0km

– Contract Duration 05.2010 – 08.2011.

Main assignment of research:

• Summary of traffic intensity data for morning/evening rush-hour at 6th tram rout;
• Summary of time diagrams for traffic lights working conditions;
• Summary of traffic accidents;
• Intelligent transport systems solutions, suggestions;
• Development of computerized transport simulation model using VISSIM simulation program.
